crocodile (left) at Jln Kecil in Kg Lubok Pulau in Tutong yesterday
Another crocodile was spotted, this time at Jln Kecil in Kg. Lubok Pulau in Tutong, less than a month after a similar creature
was spotted in Kg. Bengkurong near the capital and Kg. Pandan in Belait.
The crocodile, which is about 2 metres long, was spotted yesterday laying on the side of the riverbank, a popular spot for
fishermen looking for 'Udang Galah' or big prawn.
"What worries the village residents is that some fishermen who left their fishing rods by the river bank are not native villagers but
outsiders like students spending the school holiday fishing," said an army personnel from Penanjong Garrison.
He is a native village resident who first spotted the crocodile two years ago when time it was only about a foot long.
There were times when crocodiles carried out their activities even at night. During high tide, the crocodile was seen lying at the
riverbank.
He claimed rubbish thrown to the river became the pulling factor for the crocodile to appear.
He cautioned students who use the road to go to school to practice extra caution.
