Football

Old Stars Football Club
We are a football team who play every Thursday evening at 5pm at the Berakas Army Camp and are made up of a mix of expat and Chinese, Malay, local, mixed ability players. Due to people leaving Brunei recently we need to recruit some extra players who are willing to join our club and get involved in playing and enjoying the social events that we hold, we have an on-on with beers and food every Thursday evening as well as going on overseas tours. If interested e mail dazbirch@brunet.bn for more info.

Anchorage Football Club
BSB's longest running club for expats etc (although everyone is welcome). We play every Friday night from 5 pm onwards, at the Muara Naval Base Fields, in Muara, BSB. Everyone of every ability is welcome. We are a strong touring attendee, and drink every Friday night, at an on on, hosted by a club member.
We also have a web-site up and running http://anchoragefc.tripod.com

Women’s Soccer
Have you always had this urge to kick things? Did you secretly pray for brothers who would play soccer with you? Have you ever wondered what the terms “Man-on” “Dummy” and “Square” meant or what that offside rule is all about? If so, then this is your chance to truly discover why half the world is “football-mad.” We are starting a Women’s soccer scrimmage night. This is an activity designed for women who have never played soccer before, and also for women who are a wee bit rusty and would like to get back in shape.
Location/Time: At present, we have booked the ISB field for Wednesday Nov. 12th & Wed. Nov. 19th from 5 to 6:30 pm, for a trial run of the activity, but in January, the day/time may change if the majority wishes. Training Schedule: 5:00 -5:45 Warm-up and learn the rules and skills through organized drills, games and coaching.5:45-6:30 Skrimmage (a kick-around game where you can try out your new-found skills.)
Equipment needed: shin guards (recommended, to avoid injury) and soccer boots (recommended, to avoid injury) or good-traction runners.
Cost: $3.00 drop-in fee to cover field and equipment costs.
Registration: All players must be registered at the ISB office to be allowed entry to the field by the security guards. To advance register, send your complete name and contact phone number to: footyfolles@hotmail.com Or you can call Melodie @ (2) 423 801 for registration and more information, or to make suggestions.
We may not end up bending it like Beckham or burying it in the top corner like Thierry Henri, but at least we’ll have a few laughs trying!
