Southern Comfort Lodge
A lodge for visitors needing a get-away. We can sleep 20 people in a variety of rooms including a simple chalet on the river bank. The main house is a 60ft diameter octagon built from jungle woods. The garden and fish ponds add flavour, and it is good shelter from the rain or hot sunny days. Got a bar and a pool table, cold beer and wild game in the freezer (pig, deer, frogs, etc). There is a big waterfall nearby, and we arrange jungle treks for the serious, and fit persons who want to see virgin highland jungle. Otherwise for a weekend stay, it is easy to get here by ferry boat from Muara or you can drive here, or fly from Miri. Some of our best friends / guests have come from Brunei, from the BSB teaching community of expats looking for a new place to go, tired of hashing in the same places. We have guides for trekking and one professional 2 person Kayak for rent to explore the many rivers here (a few are safe enough for the kayak). |
